Meet Dr. William Mehan
Since he began practicing more than 30 years ago, Dr. Mehan has considered it both an honor and a privilege to have helped so many people achieve healthy and beautiful smiles. To this day, he embraces all the challenges and rewards that come with the territory of being an orthodontist, and his enthusiasm for providing orthodontic care is unmatched in the community. That passion spreads to everyone here at Mehan and Johnson Orthodontics!
The amount of young people we treat on a daily basis makes Dr. Mehan appreciate the uniqueness of each individual. They all have a story to tell, and he loves to hear them all. Dr. Mehan feels fortunate to have a profession that affords him the opportunity to care for people from all walks of life.
After graduating cum laude from the Tufts School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Mehan received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1970 before earning his Master of Science in Orthodontics degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1976. After spending a year learning to treat compromised children at Boston Floating Hospital, he spent several years in Greece and Norway practicing children’s dentistry before returning to the United States to open his practice.
Dr. Mehan strongly feels that our ability to properly provide the care that our patients need must change constantly, and continues to be trained routinely to deliver the very latest and greatest in orthodontic care. Dr. Mehan’s commitment to continuing education and new aspects of care is a motivating factor for all of us. Dr. Mehan embraces the membership of the following national and state professional organizations:
- American Dental Association
- American Association of Orthodontists
- World Federation of Orthodontists
- New England Society of Orthodontists
- New Hampshire Dental Society
- New Hampshire Association of Orthodontists
